“I strive to do my best for every patient by drawing from a variety of techniques, staying current with research, and learning from other rehabilitation specialists. My expertise is in observing and assessing movement, choosing treatment strategies to improve dysfunctional patterns of movement, and educating patients on causes of and ways to avoid injury. I develop treatment plans based on the concept of regional interdependence–impairments that seem to be unrelated in a separate part of the body may contribute to, or be associated with, the primary complaint. In order for physical therapy to be successful, patients must be active participants in the rehabilitation process. This collaborative effort ensures the best possible outcome of improved health.”

“I love my job! I’m lucky to have a career in which I get to help people be the best version of themselves. Having an integrated body is key—it’s true whether you want to be a top-performing athlete or just want to go up the stairs after surgery. With over 14 years of experience, I’m able to assess the areas where dysfunction and compensatory patterns affect optimal movement and/or causing pain. Having had many injuries in the past from being active, I can attest to the frustration of figuring out how to return to sports and daily life. Using a comprehensive approach that includes manual treatment, neuro-reeducation, movement repatterning, and specific corrective exercises, I am able to help patients return to their preferred level of activity and wellness.”

As physical therapists, we are in a in a very unique position to educate our patients on how their bodies work and provide them with the tools to achieve their health goals and lead pain-free lives. I am very excited to be in a profession where we can make such an impact.
My background as a massage therapist enables me to bring a very hands-on approach to my physical therapy treatments. I believe in a comprehensive approach to my practice, starting with a thorough evaluation and making use of all the tools at my disposal to help my patients, e.g. manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, movement pattern correction etc.
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, with different conditions. In addition to having a focus in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, I spent a lot of time working with a more acute patient population with strokes, burns, trauma, amputations and other complex conditions. This gave me a great perspective of the impact physical rehabilitation can have on one’s daily life.
I recently moved to San Francisco from Toronto, and had a very pleasant time readjusting to the much milder weather and beautiful landscape. I love exploring what the Bay Area has to offer.

Lauren rocks. I appreciate her active listening to the problem, her patience in making sure I am doing an exercise correctly, and her willingness to explain why I am doing an exercise. She is also an incredibly congenial person and makes PT enjoyable.
My therapist makes me feel positive every time I visit. I enjoy doing exercises and talking about how we should use our body to stay healthy.
Therapydia is great and working with Andy has made a huge difference in my posture and foot pain. I think this is a really important part of meeting my physical goals. Thanks!
