Dr. Janie Irvin graduated from Louisiana State University’s Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy in 2016. She has worked in an outpatient orthopedic clinic since graduating where she has treated a variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. Since graduating she has received several certifications to enhance her skill set, such as Graston Provider, LSVT BIG Certification to treat Parkinson’s Disease, Functional Dry Needle Certification, and Level 1 Schroth technique Certification to treat scoliosis in adolescents. Janie’s special interests/patient populations range from strengthening and balance related to Parkinson’s Disease, core and postural strengthening to prevent scoliosis progression in adolescents, and post-operative rehab following rotator cuff repair, total knee/hip arthroplasty, and any sports related injury.
Dr. Irvin also enjoys developing relationships with her patients and empowering them to take control of their rehab and healing. Using a combination of evidence-based clinical practices, manual therapy techniques, and exercise education, it is Janie’s goal for her patients to return to the activities they love while educating them on ways to independently maintain progress at home.
When Dr. Irvin is not in the clinic, she also enjoys running outside, traveling, hiking, SCUBA diving, playing tennis, and spending time with her husband, Brandon, and dog, Luna.
