Physical Therapist led private Pilates lessons Therapydia is excited to welcome physical therapist and Pilates instructor, Dr. Julie Millar, PT, DPT to our team! In addition to providing excellent physical therapy services, Julie is also a trained Pilates instructor through Balanced Body Pilates and has several years teaching private and group lessons on the mat and all equipment. She is excited to offer this extraordinary package at a value for a limited time.
Private lesson level: During your first lesson, you and Julie will discuss your medical and fitness history and goals to decide together which level suits you best:
Appropriate for those who have acute or chronic injuries or those who are recovering from a surgery. This may also include pre-natal care, post-natal care, or pelvic floor rehabilitation. Whether you have a low-level or high-level of fitness, the goal of clinical Pilates is to train your body out of pain, weakness, imbalance, or poor mobility in order to achieve a comfortable daily function.
Appropriate for those who would like to maintain their recovery level after injury or surgery or for those who are starting with a lower level of fitness. Depending on your level, you will be guided through corrective types of exercise for strength and conditioning.
For those who want the challenge of how Pilates can enhance your current fitness routine, no matter what exercise you enjoy! t You may be a gung-ho gardener, ferocious cross-fitter or resolute runner, but in need of something great to complement your existing fitness choices.
One-hour introductory session including a medical history, wellness and musculoskeletal assessment, in order to personalize lessons to your needs. You will also begin your Pilates training during this same lesson and be provided with a bespoke home exercise program that highlights areas to practice between lessons, if you choose.
Three individual 45-minute one-on-one lessons using a combination of Pilates reformer equipment and some mat-based training, depending on your needs and preference. Lessons will be individualized for your body, with Julie continuously using her physical therapy movement analysis skills to help your body achieve its optimal performance.

Jessica recently moved to Seattle from Boston, MA and is excited to join the Therapydia team. Her treatment experience includes orthopedics, sports medicine, pediatrics, and vestibular therapy. Jessica received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2016. She has completed the Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency at Boston Children’s Hospital and is in the process of completing a Comprehensive Vestibular Rehabilitation certification. Jessica believes in empowering and inspiring patients to take control of their health through education, movement, and exercise. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and levels while utilizing soft tissue techniques, neuromuscular re-education, balance training as well as therapeutic exercise. In her free time, Jessica enjoys yoga, dancing, kayaking, and hiking with her dog!
