Curtis Olivieri, DPT
Curtis has been practicing Physical Therapy since 2012. He is a recent Nola transplant as he originally hails from Pennsylvania. Pa is where he did his education graduating with his Bachelors in Kinesiology / Movement Science from Penn State University. He received his Doctorate in PT from the University of Scranton (Home of Michael Scott & the Office). Curtis worked in PA as a clinic director for the past 4 years and gained a lot of experience treating a wide variety of patients and gained perspective in that time for healthcare as a whole. He is excited to begin his journey helping others in Therapydia’s 1 on 1 care model.
He believes Physical Therapy and Health as a whole should be a journey starting with getting to know the patient and finding out each patient’s story meeting them where they are and guiding them to their goals. He helps guide them to these goals by having a solid foundation in human anatomy, movement principles, and using a blended portion of many different continuing education experiences. He is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Screen, The postural respiration institute, the Maitland and Mulligan Institutes. He believes manual techniques, joint mobilization, dry needling, among multiple other passive methods, help to reduce pain so movement is easier and not feared. He also believes that these passive techniques only open a temporary window to health, a window that can be closed with movement and patient education.
Curtis is a high energy guy who likes to keep it fun in the clinic, your likely to catch him singing or talking about one sport or another during your treatment. He has many interests. He loves golf, football, and the outdoors.
Tyler Lusignan, DPT
I was born in New Orleans and attended LSU in Baton Rouge where I received my Bachelor of Science degree and then moved back to New Orleans to attend LSU Health Sciences Center. I graduated with my doctorate degree in 2018 and have been practicing physical therapy ever since with a focus on orthopedic musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries.
On my pursuit to further my education, I have received my Blood Flow Restriction certification which is an active therapy modality to promote improved strength for individuals who cannot tolerate a heavier resistance such as a post-surgical or un-trained individual. I have also completed an online mentorship called "The Level Up Initiative" which has improved my critical thinking and communication skills as well as how to adopt a growth mindset. I have shaped my practice pattern into a biopsychosocial approach to exercise and patient care and centered my plan of care around empowering the patient to achieve all of their goals.
I enjoy traveling, trying all the amazing restaurants New Orleans has to offer and finding live music. You can often find me walking my dog at Audubon or playing disc golf at City Park.
Great one-on-one by Tyler allowed for a better understanding of the care I was receiving along with a better understanding of completing the exercises at home. The progress I made was significant in my recovery before school starts as well so that I can maneuver around campus well.
Love the attention to detail and being proactive in explaining and answering questions. I now perform functional squat and dead lift movements that I was discouraged from doing. My chronic pain was detected and now on the decline that has been misunderstood over the last 10 years.
Whitney has been amazing. She has helped me so much with my issues. With a sensitive matter, she has made it easy to talk about it and I felt so much at ease.
