Steve, Therapydia Pearl's Clinic Director, comes from the Bay Area in
Northern California. He received his B.A. in Sports Science with a
concentration in Sports Medicine at University of the Pacific in
Stockton, California where he also obtained his Doctorate of Physical
Therapy in 2015. Steven immediately became involved in clinical
education by quickly becoming a Certified Clinical Instructor, and
teaching a multitude of students from across the nation. He completed
a 3-year post doctorate program to become a certified Orthopedic
Manual Therapist through the Manual Therapy Institute. As a result,
Steven’s clinical approach is greatly supported by a “hands on”
approach towards getting his patients better faster. He has most
recently completed his certifications in Vestibular Rehabilitation,
Athlete Movement Systems, and is further specializing in the treatment
and diagnosis of endurance athletes.
When he isn’t studying or treating patients, you can find Steven rock
climbing with his wife Monica, or hiking with his dog, Luna. Steven
also loves to snow shoe, snowboard, and play volleyball whenever he
gets the chance.
Rachel Wilkinson, DPT
Physical Therapist
Rachel is originally from the Bay Area. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Southern California with her BS in Health Sciences. Rachel received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015 from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Amidst beginning PT school, Rachel went from running marathons to CrossFit as her fitness regime. She became invested in the CrossFit community and it became more than an exercise outlet for her. This is a group she can relate to and is eager to help or guide towards optimal movement and performance.
Rachel is also passionate about Sports Medicine and enjoys working with patients of all ages and abilities. She specializes in shoulder and hip rehabilitation. Rachel has been continuing her education in female injury, prevention and return to prior level of function. This includes post-partum women looking to return to all levels of fitness.
Rachel enjoys being active outdoors with her husband and dogs, enjoying Portland’s food scene, traveling to new places and playing recreational sports.
Ryan Eckert, DPT
Physical Therapist
Ryan, originally from Northern California, received his B.S. in Human
Biology from UCSD in 2013 before obtaining his Doctorate of Physical
Therapy from the University of California San Francisco and San
Francisco State University in 2019. During that time he studied with
top myofascial decompression and running biomechanics researchers and
is excited to bring these findings into his clinical work. Prior to
his studies, Ryan was a former all-conference NCAA track and field
athlete and has worked with a diverse range of clients over the last 5
years in a variety of rehab and training settings. Additionally, he is
a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), certified in
Selective Functional Movement Assessment(SFMA) and Rocktape, and holds
a Russian Kettlebell Certification (RKC) that provides him with the
knowledge of how to modify and adapt exercises and manual treatments
to optimize results of people seeking improvements in both their
everyday and athletic lives. When not at the clinic you can find Ryan
exploring Portland via trail, bike, on the water or brewery and
enjoying the outdoors.
Jessica Office Manager
Office Manager
Jessica was born and raised in Northern California. She is the eldest of 5 and her mom was one of 8; a big Italian family. She has lived in Portland since 2000.
Jessica raised her son, Camron, along with working as a Pharmacy Technician for 10 years. She enjoys reading, spending time with quality friends, fitness, and her American Bullboxer, Khaleesi.
Jessica is also a marathoner and has ran 2 full marathons and countless shorter distances over the past 8 years. Jessica’s passions include supporting women to be the best versions of themselves as she practices this herself. She mentored a team of fitness entrepreneurs and is also working on her skills as a public speaker.
